Mark S. Friedman earned a B.S. in Psychology and J.D. in Law at the University of Illinois. He was awarded a post graduate fellowship to study international commercial law at the Universite de Caen, Caen, France.

Mr. Friedman engaged in the active practice of business and real estate law for fifteen years prior to his acquisition of Vanguard Community Management in 1987. Under his leadership, Vanguard has grown consistently and has built a management portfolio which includes a wide variety of community associations, ranging from condominium and town home communities to single family residential neighborhoods.

Mr. Friedman has been instrumental in the development and implementation of various group purchasing programs for the benefit of Vanguard's clients in the areas of insurance, natural gas, telecommunications, and electricity. Additionally, under Mr. Friedman's stewardship, Vanguard's customers have enjoyed cutting edge technology in the application of Internet, Intranet and Extranet technology to everyday community association life.
